The 2005 Freestar returns for its second year available in five trims: S, SE, SES, SEL, and Limited models. Ford built the Freestar last year to replace the aging Windstar. There are two engines available on the Freestar. The S, SE, and SES receive a 3.9L V6 with 193 hp and 240 lbs-ft of torque while the SEL and Limited are equipped with a 4.2L V6 producing 201 hp and 263 lbs-ft of torque. The 4.2L V6 is the largest engine currently available in a minivan. Another versatile feature is the third row bench seat that folds-away into the floor, leaving a flat cargo compartment. Safety features include the optional three-row front-to-back head protection air bags and standard front and rear disc brakes with ABS.
